ERGONOMICS
What happens during an assessment?
An OT will come to your workplace and interview you about your work and health concerns related to your comfort at work. The OT will take measurements of you and your workstation, and will likely discuss options that may include equipment and/or work practice modifications. Education will be provided regarding ideal workstation set-up and work practices. After the assessment, a report will be provided outlining the recommendations.
How long does an assessment take?
An on-site assessment typically takes 1 to 2 hours, plus time for report writing.
What kind of training do the OTs at Regina OT have?
During OT undergraduate training, OTs learn about very detailed task analysis, medical conditions that may affect personal comfort, and specific ergonomic analysis and solutions. James and Suzanne also have post-graduate training in office and industrial ergonomics, and continually update their knowledge in this area.
